John Sutch Cranes recently supported essential infrastructure works at Moorfields Station, Liverpool, delivering a complex overnight lift to install a new stair and tower structure within a constrained city-centre rail environment.
Operating in live transport locations presents unique challenges, including restricted access, limited working windows, and the need to minimise disruption to surrounding assets and public operations. For this project, a Böcker was the crane of choice for us - offering exceptional manoeuvrability, precise control, and rapid setup within the confined footprint of the site.

The lift was carried out safely and efficiently on behalf of our client, working closely with the wider project team led by Morgan Sindall. Detailed lift planning, method statements, and coordination ensured the installation was completed within the overnight possession, maintaining programme certainty and safety compliance throughout.
Mick Turner, Technical Sales Representative at John Sutch Cranes, said:
“This project demonstrated the importance of understanding the site constraints and specifying the right crane from the outset. The Böcker allowed us to deliver the lift safely and efficiently, proving that smaller cranes can have a major impact when applied correctly.”
