John Sutch Cranes has successfully completed a complex lifting operation at Peel Ports, recovering 35-tonne ship hatches from a Ship to Shore (STS) crane for a repeat client. The precision operation showcased the company's specialized expertise in port environments and reinforced its reputation for delivering consistent, high-quality crane services.
The challenging lift was executed using our Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane, with a full specialist team deployed to ensure safe and efficient completion of the operation.
The operation was designed by Technical Sales Representative Mick Turner, whose decades of lifting operations experience ensured meticulous planning and flawless execution. Turner, well-respected throughout the lifting industry, coordinated the multi-disciplinary team effort.
"When you've got the right equipment, the right team, and proper planning, these complex port lifts become a thing of beauty. Everything just flows," said Mick Turner, Technical Sales Representative at John Sutch Cranes.
The on-site team included crane operators Tony and Ian, ballast operators Mark and Vinny, with Tony also providing specialist rigging expertise to secure the 35-tonne load safely.
The successful completion of this operation for a repeat client at Peel Ports demonstrates John Sutch Cranes' consistent approach to quality and safety.
Our company's ability to maintain the same high standards across all operations, regardless of complexity, has established strong, long-term relationships with clients in the maritime sector.
And that's important to us.
Hayley Sutch, Designate MD, said: "This job just typifies what we are about as a business. We look after our customers, we value their engagement and our team delivers a spot on job."
