John Sutch Cranes has been shortlisted for National Construction Business of the Year at the Sunday Express Construction and Property Awards - recognised by an editorial panel and professionals from across the construction and property sector for impact, quality and excellence.
It has been a period of considerable activity for the business. A £750,000 investment into the Transport and Rigging Division. A new brand identity. Major lifting projects at Manchester Town Hall, Moorfields Station in Liverpool, Southampton Port and across the length and breadth of the UK. A recruitment drive underway. And a pipeline of significant lifts ahead.
Away from the cranes, John Sutch Cranes has been equally active. The company's ongoing campaign to address inconsistent enforcement of mobile crane legislation - which saw the then Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner visit the Manchester depot and pledge cross-departmental support at Westminster - has placed the business at the forefront of a debate that matters to the entire crane and construction industry.
It is the combination of that operational excellence and industry advocacy that we beleive has earned this recognition.
The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday 30th April 2026 at The Concorde Conference Centre, Manchester, with judging chaired by former UK Construction Minister Lord Richard Harrington. John Sutch Cranes will be there.
Hayley Sutch, Designate Managing Director, John Sutch Cranes, said she was delighted for the business to be in the company of some of the biggest names in the construction industry.
She said: "This nomination means a great deal to us. It reflects the hard work of everyone in this business and a period where we have invested heavily - in our fleet, our people and in fighting for fairer conditions for our industry. We are very much looking forward to representing John Sutch Cranes in Manchester on the night."
