Our GMK6300L-1 was back in action this week on a housing estate in Cheshire — supporting a repeat client with the installation of large precast drainage structures.
We know this site, and we know the terrain. But this visit came with a fresh set of challenges. A series of heavy precast headwalls and culvert sections needed to be lifted into position beside the canal - key components in the development’s water management system.
Winter had other ideas. Freezing temperatures, slick roads, and difficult access meant getting both our crane and the delivery vehicles into place required patience, planning and a whole lot of care.
Once we overcame the road conditions and safely positioned the GMK6300L-1, the lift itself was no issue. With the right kit and the right people, these large precast units - designed for drainage, culvert flow and long-term water control - were placed exactly where they needed to be.
A smooth, controlled operation delivered with the usual John Sutch precision.
Big credit to the site team: Roy, Ian and Dave for keeping everything safe, coordinated and calm in challenging conditions.
Mick Turner, Technical Sales Representative said: “Winter conditions always test your planning, but that’s where good teams show their value. Once we got the vehicles in safely, the lads had the lift wrapped up with the usual Sutch precision. A proper team effort from start to finish.”
